It is with a hint of sadness that Red Dream Productions say farewell to our Friday the 13th parody series. It all began in 2009 with a vodafone/blackberry short film competition called the Touch Film Festival. The brief was to recreate your favorite film in three minutes and we said why not. Shortly afterwards myself along with actress Yuna Commault were running around the woods on the big screen in the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin. A great night was had and our little movie took home the Best Horror Award.
Having enjoyed the process, we decided to keep the ball rolling and make some more, (5 more including today's finale). The production quality has hopefully improved over the years and the cast and crew has grown to include Wolfgate Media Production's Danny Armstrong, who was invaluable to this series as well as other productions we have worked on together, absolute Legend!
A New Jason
After double-jobbing as Director/Jason for 4 outings, I was delighted to welcome Shane Farrelly into the fold and (somewhat reluctantly) hand over the hockey mask for the last 2 installments, he kicked ass, never complained once about how uncomfortable the outfit was and helped with everything no matter how late shoots ran, We salute you Sir.
Thank you so, so much to everybody that rolled up your sleeves and helped me with the mayhem over the years, it's been tough going at times with lots of cold, late nights, but I hope all worth it in the end.
The fake blood has been washed away (Sorry again Mum) and the hockey mask and machete have been hung up for good as we move forward to the next project.
John - Director/producer :-)
Red Dream productions are delighted to reveal the first look at An Unfortunate Friday the 13th Part V. Although principle photography has yet to finish, Friday the 13th seems like a good day to give a sneak peak at the next instalment in the ongoing web series.
Part V follows on directly from the events of Part IV and follows Jason as he, under the guidance of his dead mother, returns to his murderous ways.
This instalment boasts a fresh cast, featuring the acting talents of Sophie Merry, Cilléin Mc Evoy, Jessica Drew, Killian Ginnity and Shane Farrelly, a bigger budget and a truly explosive rampage that fans of the genre will hopefully enjoy.
Writer/Director John Stewart is hoping for an early 2016 release provided post production goes well.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the woods
Red Dream productions are looking for two actors (1 male and 1 female) with a playing range of 20-30 to star in the newest installation of the award winning Unfortunate Friday the 13th series. Ideally actors will have neutral accents and be available to shoot at night. The male role will involve one night of filming and some prosthetic application, while the female role will likely be a minimum of two days/nights.
Actors will be paid a fee for their performance and refreshments will be provided on set.
Filming dates are as yet to be confirmed, but will be on weekends for maximum convenience.
Cast and crew will meet in Oldcastle Co. Meath and transport from Oldcastle to the locations will be provided.
This series began in 2009 and part 1 was entered into the Vodafone Touch Film Festival. The twist on the horror franchise entertained the judges and it won the best horror short. Since then we have had tons of fun making the sequels and have enjoyed write ups from the Official Friday The 13th Film Franchise website along with articles in Dread Central. Hopefully this independent production will be just as much fun to make as it is to watch. If you or any budding actors you may know might enjoy this sort of project, please send your details to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will contact all suitable candidates with audition details.
Thanks, good luck and see you soon, John
